Podcast: On Lessons from First Responders and Doing Masculinity Differently
In episode 3, David and Paul talk to Steve Farina, one of the BC First Responder Resiliency Program’s greatest supporters.
Steve is a recently retired fire fighter with the City of Coquitlam, Executive Vice President with the BC Professional Fire Fighters Association.
He was also one of the earliest supporters of Blueprint's First Responder Resiliency Program for BC's fire service—he’s been working with Blueprint from almost the very beginning on the development and promotion of the program both inside and outside of his professional pursuits. For Steve, it’s also personal.
In this episode, Steve talks about the team culture and the impacts of working as a fire fighter, breaking unhealthy cycles of masculinity within the profession, and his current top priorities - being there as a dad, a partner, and a mentor.
